
The 2009-2010 Swartz Creek Varsity Pom team attended the UDA team camp held at Oakland University. The event was held June 21st thru 24th. The team came away with many awards. The team received a superior award for overall excellence earning them a bid to compete in the UDA National Championships. With the award, the girls also received an invitation to perform at halftime of the Capital One Bowl in Orlando,Florida on New Year's Day. The girls also finished 3rd overall among all varsity teams and all styles of routines.
Two girls were also singled out by the UDA staff. Kearstyn Leese and Chelsea Sipes earned All-American awards and an invitation to perform in the New Year's parade in Rome. Leese, Sipes, Kayla Johnson, and Emily Palmer also received an invitation to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York. A huge thank you goes to Jessica White for her help with the pom program. She is a huge asset. The pom team will take the rest of the summer off before starting back up in August.
